CONSCIOUS LIVING | CONSCIOUS GIVING

“We collectively as entire population of earth are using natural capital 1.5 times as fast as nature can renew it.”
Think for a minute what this statement means. What we are doing and what legacy we are leaving for our future generations.
Human beings are already overusing natural resources at a faster rate than nature can replenish it. This means we are living unsustainably by depleting natural resources.
Ask yourself; is this right? Is this a healthy way of life? What will happen after two or three decades or even 50 years down the road? Are we doing anything to help this situation?
Even in this age many people in many parts of various countries are deprived of basic amenities such as clean drinking water or food. We cannot consciously say that this is not our problem because if we don’t take steps to reduce our ecological footprint this would become massive problem even in our country.
Whenever it comes to doing something for the environment we usually adopt a negative attitude blaming big cities and industries for the cause and our answer is what difference a single person can make. History has shown again and again big changes start from single movement by a single person.
We can make difference by simple CONSCIOUS LIVING. Every decision we take in our day to day life affects our planet directly and indirectly. For example high usage of tissue papers, use of paper for everything, wastage of water, using plastic bags and so on. These are all common day to day activities which we can curb by conscious living. Daily reduction in paper usage or even use of recycled tissues could be effective in helping our environment. Timbers are used for manufacturing papers and tissues and USA has the highest consumption of tissues, about 50 pounds per person, than any other countries. Just think how many trees are chopped for our habit of over using tissues.
Paper and pulp industry adversely affects our environment as they cut trees to make paper and tissues, which we are so fond of, and directly impact wildlife, forest and environment. Indirect effects are many more such as water and air pollution, cancer causing chemicals, emitting global warming gasses etc.
By changing to eco-friendly habits we can reduce our consumption and make huge impacts on the environment.
Some of the step we can take to reduce our ecological footprint –
>      Stop unnecessary use of paper, reduce paper bills/tickets and junk mail.
>      Less use of plastic bags, tissues etc
>      Saving water by installing water saving fixtures or harvesting
>      Use more and more recycled products
>      Save electricity

Heal the Planet is an NGO working toward the goal of conscious living. Our goal is to educate children as well as adults towards the importance of their decisions and making conscious choices that are healthy for themselves as well as planet. Taking ownership is what matters and would help children in taking positive decisions towards helping the planet.

Heal the Planet also provides support and services to creative thinkers and entrepreneurs who are taking step to make a difference towards our planet.
